The Helios VDW EC 180 is a high-performance vertical discharge roof fan, engineered for energy-efficient operation and precise airflow control. Its robust housing is made from seawater-resistant aluminium for excellent durability and corrosion resistance in outdoor environments. The fan incorporates an integrated protection guard and features a galvanised steel motor support and base plate with an inlet cone to enhance airflow efficiency. The base plate includes threaded bolts for easy connection of intake accessories following DIN 24155 (page 3), and a bird guard is standard on the discharge side in compliance with DIN EN ISO 13857 safety regulations.
At the core of the fan is a backward curved centrifugal impeller made from high-grade polymers, dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 – 1 standards for smooth and efficient operation.
This model is equipped with a modern EC external rotor motor, delivering high efficiency, speed controllability, and low energy consumption. The motor is ball bearing mounted, maintenance-free, and interference-free, with built-in electronic temperature monitoring for both the motor and control electronics. An internal potentiometer allows fan speed adjustment between minimum and maximum levels, while external speed control is possible via a potentiometer or the Helios EUR-EC universal control system. All connections are made via an external IP65-rated terminal box for secure and weather-resistant installation.
