The Helios SB EC 160 A is an EC centrifugal fan featuring a sound-absorbing casing constructed from galvanized sheet steel. It includes spigots designed to fit standard duct sizes and is lined internally with a 50 mm thick abrasion-resistant mineral fibreboard for effective noise reduction. The fan is equipped with a removable lid and a retractable motor and impeller assembly to simplify maintenance.
Its impeller is an energy-saving forward curved centrifugal type, housed within an aerodynamically designed scroll made of galvanized sheet steel. The impeller is dynamically balanced to minimize noise during operation.
The fan is powered by a highly efficient, speed-controlled EC external rotor motor with IP44 protection. The motor is maintenance-free, ball bearing mounted, and operates without radio interference. Integrated electronic temperature monitoring protects both the motor and its electronics. The unit features a built-in potentiometer for setting any fan speed between minimum and maximum. Stepless speed control is available via an external potentiometer or the universal EUR-EC control system. Connections are made through a standard IP54 terminal box mounted on an extended cable.
