The Helios MBD EC 280 is an acoustically insulated centrifugal fan featuring an energy-efficient EC internal rotor motor positioned outside the air stream. The casing is made from double-skinned galvanised steel lined with 30 mm mineral fibreboard to reduce noise. Intake and exhaust spigots are fitted with twin-seal rubber gaskets to ensure airtight connections.
The motor and impeller assembly swing out on two sturdy mounting rails supported by four anti-vibration mounts, allowing easy maintenance and cleaning. The fan includes a condensation drain and drip protection, which are standard when the access door is opened.
The motor is a speed-controllable EC type with high efficiency, IP 55 protection rating, and maintenance-free ball bearings. It features integrated electronic temperature monitoring for both the motor and its electronics; if the motor temperature exceeds safe limits, an automatic speed reduction occurs. The speed can be continuously adjusted using a potentiometer or a universal control system. An externally mounted IP 55 terminal box is also included on the motor for easy connection
