The Helios MBD 280/6 Ex is a centrifugal fan featuring acoustic insulation and designed for hazardous environments requiring explosion protection. Its double-skinned galvanised steel casing includes 50 mm mineral fibreboard insulation to effectively reduce noise. The fan’s intake and outlet spigots incorporate twin-seal rubber gaskets to ensure airtight connections.
The motor and impeller unit can be swung out from the casing, allowing straightforward cleaning and maintenance. This assembly is secured on robust mounting rails with four anti-vibration mounts to reduce vibration and noise during operation.
The fan is fitted with a highly efficient forward-curved centrifugal impeller made of galvanised sheet steel, dynamically balanced to comply with DIN 1940 and VDI 2060 standards at class G 6.3. It is driven by a totally enclosed, maintenance-free 3‑phase squirrel cage motor with sealed-for-life ball bearings, providing quiet operation. The motor is fixed-speed and complies with ATEX explosion-proof certification
