The Helios MBD 280/4 Ex is an acoustically lined centrifugal fan designed for environments requiring both noise control and explosion protection. Its casing is constructed from double-skinned galvanised steel and filled with 50 mm mineral fibreboard insulation to reduce sound transmission. Both the intake and discharge spigots are equipped with twin-seal rubber gaskets for a secure and airtight connection.
The motor and impeller assembly can be swung out, allowing convenient access for maintenance and cleaning. This assembly is mounted on stable rails and supported by four anti-vibration mounts to minimise operational noise and vibration.
Equipped with a forward-curved centrifugal impeller made from galvanised sheet steel, the unit is dynamically balanced to meet DIN 1940 and VDI 2060 standards, class G 6.3. The fan is powered by a totally enclosed, maintenance-free 3‑phase squirrel cage motor with sealed-for-life ball bearings. This motor is designed for quiet operation, is not speed-controllable, and conforms to ATEX standards for explosion-proof applications
