The Helios MBD 225/4 Ex is a heavy-duty, acoustically insulated centrifugal fan designed for industrial environments requiring explosion protection. It features a swing-out motor and impeller unit mounted outside the airstream, enabling easy access for cleaning and servicing.
The fan housing is built with a robust, double-skinned galvanized steel casing, internally insulated with 50 mm thick mineral fibreboard for superior noise attenuation. Intake and exhaust spigots are fitted with twin-seal rubber gaskets to ensure airtight duct connections. The integrated mounting rails and four anti-vibration mounts provide stable and quiet operation.
This model is equipped with a highly efficient, forward curved centrifugal impeller made of galvanized steel, dynamically balanced according to DIN 1940 and VDI 2060 (class G 6.3), ensuring low vibration and high reliability.
Power is supplied by a totally enclosed, maintenance-free 3‑phase squirrel cage motor with sealed-for-life, low-noise ball bearings. This motor is not speed controllable and is certified for explosion-proof operation in compliance with ATEX standards, making it suitable for hazardous environments.
