The Helios MBD 160/2 Ex is a robust, acoustically insulated centrifugal fan designed for demanding industrial applications, especially where explosion protection is required. Housed in a double-skinned, galvanized steel casing filled with 50 mm mineral fibre insulation, the fan ensures quiet operation while maintaining high durability. Intake and exhaust spigots are fitted with twin-seal rubber gaskets to enhance air tightness.
Equipped with a swing-out motor and impeller assembly, the unit allows easy access for maintenance and cleaning. It includes stable mounting rails and four anti-vibration mounts to minimize noise and vibration transmission. The forward-curved centrifugal impeller, made of galvanized steel, is dynamically balanced according to DIN 1940 and VDI 2060 standards (class G 6.3), ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
Powered by a fully enclosed, maintenance-free 3‑phase squirrel cage motor, the MBD 160/2 Ex features sealed-for-life ball bearings for longevity and low noise levels. This model is not speed-controllable and is specifically built to meet ATEX requirements for use in explosive atmospheres.
