The Helios HRFD 500/4 Ex is a robust, explosion proof axial fan engineered for safe operation in hazardous or potentially explosive atmospheres. This high-performance fan features a cylindrical duct housing made from galvanised sheet steel, with standardised flanges on both ends that comply with DIN 24155, ensuring easy integration into ducted systems. A terminal box is mounted externally for accessible electrical connection.
Its 7‑blade impeller is precision-engineered from impact-resistant, anti-static polymers and dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 and VDI 2060 class 6.3 for smooth, reliable airflow. With an electrical resistance below 1 Ohm, the impeller is ideal for environments where electrostatic discharge must be minimised. The fan is suitable for operation in ambient temperatures ranging from ‑30°C to +40°C.
The unit is driven by a totally enclosed, 3‑phase squirrel cage motor designed for continuous operation in explosive zones. It is maintenance-free, features sealed-for-life low-noise ball bearings, and is not speed controllable. Certified to ATEX standards, the HRFD 500/4 Ex offers dependable ventilation performance and safety for demanding industrial applications.
