The Helios HQD 450/6 Ex is a high-efficiency axial fan designed specifically for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, meeting ATEX standards for explosion protection. It features a robust square mounting plate with a drawn bell mouth inlet made from galvanized sheet steel, providing strength and resistance to corrosion.
Equipped with a specially profiled 7‑blade impeller, this model ensures optimal airflow performance. The impeller is constructed from impact-resistant, anti-static polymers and dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 and VDI 2060 (Class G 6.3), ensuring smooth and vibration-free operation. It is suitable for environments with ambient temperatures ranging from ‑30°C to +40°C, with an electrical surface resistance of less than 1 Ohm.
The HQD 450/6 Ex includes a fully enclosed 3‑phase squirrel cage motor that is maintenance-free and fitted with sealed-for-life ball bearings to ensure long-lasting, quiet operation. As per ATEX requirements, the motor is non-controllable and specifically designed for use in hazardous zones requiring explosion proof equipment.
