The Helios GBD EC 500 B is a compact and energy-efficient ventilation unit designed for both intake and extract air applications. It includes flexible sleeves on the duct connections to minimize vibration transmission and features adjustable side panels to adapt to various structural layouts. Installation is straightforward using standard crane hooks.
Built with a robust self-supporting frame of aluminium hollow profiles, the unit’s housing includes 20 mm thick double-walled side panels made from galvanized sheet steel. These panels are lined internally with non-combustible mineral wool to provide effective thermal and acoustic insulation. Optional panel replacements, such as weather louvres or condensate trays, can be fitted as needed. Additional accessories, including wall brackets and protective roofs, may be installed inside or outside the unit.
The ventilation system features a direct-drive, free-running centrifugal impeller with backward-curved blades, made from aluminium. It is designed for high efficiency and low noise, and is dynamically balanced with the motor in accordance with DIN ISO 1940 Pt.1 – class 6.3.
At its core is a high-performance EC external rotor motor, known for energy savings and variable speed control. Rated at IP54, the motor operates maintenance-free and interference-free, with ball bearing support and integrated electronic temperature monitoring for both the motor and electronics. The unit includes an internal potentiometer for precise adjustment of fan speed between minimum and maximum settings, and also supports stepless control via an external potentiometer or the EUR-EC universal control system. All connections are made through a standard IP54-rated terminal box on a cable.
