Helios Fans GBD EC 450 T120

The Helios GBD EC 450 T120 is a powerful cubical exhaust unit engineered for extracting hot and polluted air in environments such as commercial kitchens and industrial processing systems. Designed to handle air temperatures up to 120°C, this unit features an EC motor positioned outside the airflow, making it suitable for demanding applications involving grease-laden or contaminated air.

The system includes supply and extract duct adapters with integrated flexible sleeves to minimise vibration transmission. Modular side panels allow for structural flexibility, while standard crane hooks enable easy installation and positioning on-site. It also comes equipped with a condensate collector and enclosed discharge as standard.

Built with durability and efficiency in mind, the unit uses a self-supporting aluminium frame and double-walled side panels made from galvanised steel. These 20 mm thick panels are internally insulated with non-combustible mineral wool to enhance thermal resistance and soundproofing. The enclosure panels can be swapped with accessories such as condensate trays or weather louvres, and optional extras like wall brackets and weather roofs can be added externally or internally.

The fan impeller is a backward-curved, free-running centrifugal type made from aluminium and directly driven for optimal performance. It is dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 Pt.1 – class 6.3 to ensure low vibration and noise.

Powering the unit is a high-efficiency, EC internal-rotor motor housed outside the airflow, with an IP54 protection rating. This maintenance-free, ball bearing-mounted motor is interference-free and includes electronic temperature monitoring to protect both motor and controller. A built-in potentiometer allows for manual adjustment of fan speed across the full range, while stepless control can also be managed externally using a universal EUR-EC controller or an external potentiometer.
