The Helios GBD EC 450 is an energy-efficient cubic ventilation box designed for demanding ventilation applications. Equipped with intake and extract spigots and flexible sleeves, it effectively reduces vibration transmission while maintaining a quiet operating environment. Its modular design features adaptable side panels to suit various installation conditions and can be positioned effortlessly using standard crane hooks.
The unit’s robust construction includes a self-supporting frame made from durable aluminium hollow sections. Its 20 mm thick double-walled panels, fabricated from galvanised sheet steel, are internally insulated with non-combustible mineral wool to enhance both thermal and acoustic performance. The modular panels can be replaced with additional accessories such as weather louvres or condensate trays, while optional extras like wall brackets and weather protection roofs can be installed internally or externally based on site requirements.
At its core is a free-running, backward curved centrifugal impeller made from lightweight aluminium, designed for direct drive operation. The impeller is dynamically balanced with the motor to DIN ISO 1940 Pt.1 – class 6.3 standards, ensuring smooth, low-noise performance.
The fan is powered by a high-efficiency EC external rotor motor with IP54 protection. It is both maintenance-free and interference-free, using ball bearing mounts to ensure reliability and longevity. Integrated electronic monitoring safeguards the motor and control electronics from overheating.
Speed control is highly flexible. The unit features a built-in internal potentiometer, allowing users to adjust the control voltage and fan speed between minimum and maximum. External speed regulation is also possible using a potentiometer or the EUR-EC universal control system. Electrical connections are made through a standard IP54-rated terminal box.
