The Helios GBD EC 400 T120 is a sturdy cubic exhaust unit designed specifically for extracting contaminated air at temperatures up to 120°C. Ideal for commercial kitchens and industrial ventilation applications, it is equipped with low-loss supply and extract duct adapters fitted with flexible sleeves to minimize vibration transmission and noise.
The motor is positioned outside the airflow, making this model suitable for handling hot and dirty air. A condensate collector with an enclosed condensation discharge is provided as standard, ensuring the unit remains protected and operational in demanding conditions.
The enclosure frame is self-supporting, constructed from durable aluminium hollow sections. Its double-walled side panels are 20 mm thick, made of galvanised sheet steel, and lined with non-combustible mineral wool to provide excellent sound and heat insulation. These panels can be replaced or upgraded with accessories such as weather louvres and condensate trays. Additional fittings like wall brackets and weather protection roofs can be mounted inside or outside depending on installation requirements. The unit is designed for easy handling with standard crane hooks.
Central to its performance is a free-running backward curved centrifugal impeller made from aluminium and directly driven for efficient, quiet operation. The impeller and motor are dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 Pt.1 – class 6.3 standards for smooth, vibration-free running.
The fan is powered by an energy-saving, enclosed EC internal-rotor motor located outside the airflow. This motor features IP54 protection, operates at maximum efficiency, and is maintenance-free with ball bearing mounting to ensure long life. Integrated electronic temperature monitoring protects both motor and electronics.
For precise speed control, the unit includes a standard internal potentiometer allowing adjustment between minimum and maximum fan speeds. Additional stepless speed control options include an external potentiometer or the universal EUR-EC control system. Power and control signal connections are conveniently located inside the unit at the EC controller for straightforward installation.
The Helios GBD EC 400 T120 combines robust construction, advanced motor technology, and versatile control features to provide reliable, energy-efficient extraction in high-temperature, demanding ventilation environments.
